Our Mission

Through a special partnership with horses, and by focusing on abilities rather than limitations, Hoofprints on the Heart Adaptive Riding Center will offer challenging individualized programs which encourage physical, academic, social and emotional growth to individuals with special needs.

Our History

Hoofprints on the Heart Adaptive Riding Center (HOTHARC) is a non-profit founded by three women with various life experiences, but having a common dream of pairing horses with the disabled population. This grassroots organization was created as a result of unique chance meetings, a common love of horses, and a need in the Tri Valley area for adaptive riding. All three founders were teachers and one is a parent of a handicapped son. Each has seen how a horse can “magically” change a child with limited abilities.
