SAVE THE DATE!!!

SAVE THE DATE!!!! SAVE THE DATE!!!
Monday, September 27, 2010 Summit Financial Group in San Ramon is holding their
8th Annual Golf Tournament including a silent auction and dinner. Hoofprints will be
the only beneficiary of this event, so we are asking everyone to save the date, plan to
attend yourself and find all your friends and family who golf and invite them to the event.
This event is held at the Diablo Country Club in Diablo. It promises to be an exciting
and fun filled day with lots of games and food and of course, golf!.

Thank-you Congressman Garamendi!!

Hoofprints was the grateful recipient of some freshly cut hay from the ranch of
Congressman John Garamendi on Saturday, June 19th. He and an aide drove it to
Livermore from his ranch in Calaveras County. What a wonderful gift for some
perpetually hungry horses. Hoofprints is so very grateful!!

Beans, corn and tomatoes Oh My!

What’s the nursery school song to this effect??
Scouts from Troop 924, several of their families and 2 trusty volunteers, Amy Ruth
and Lee spent the morning at Hoofprints putting in a huge garden on Thursday, June
17th. They had to prepare the soil and get rid of the weeds before putting in the many
plants and seeds from Alden Lane Nursery. Thank-you to Nathan White for leading
this effort. The produce from the garden will feed people at Open Heart Kitchen as well
as the families and staff at Hoofprints. We are very grateful for the efforts of everyone
involved.

Hoofprints’ New Fence

Most weekends in March and early April have seen a group of North Pleasanton Rotary fellows and ladies busy at work building a fence around our outdoor arena. They were assisted by several trusty Hoofprints volunteers and by our project leader, Mike Rountree who operated the big machinery and organized the work. We now have a beautiful natural wood fence around the arena where we work every day. The gates come later when we are able to build them according to historical specs. We are so grateful to this hard working Rotary group for their service to Hoofprints.

The Horse of Course

The Museum on Main in downtown Pleasanton is featuring a display called “The Horse of Course”. The many ways in which the horse has played a part in the development of our region are depicted in pictures and articles on display. Hoofprints is an example of how the horse can become a partner in healing. The display is on through August. Check it out!
